Ah, remember the days of ballet slippers, leotards, and tutus? Remember when you were four-years-old and attending your first ballet class and thought you’d come out as a princess fairy? Remember your first recital? Remember watching your first ballet and envying the pretty ballerinas and their tutus and graceful ability? For those who still envy ballerinas, you’re in luck! Forever 21 has launched their next “Twist” line. This time the look is inspired by ballet. Forever 21 has created pretty tutu-esque skirts, frilly dresses, and pretty sweaters for this line that any girly girl is sure to love!

Now be prepared to sauté pour la mode!

OUTFIT OF THE DAY.

Bonjour, bonjour!
So, today I was scoping out some of my favorite sites, when I thought, “why don’t I have an outfit of the day? OOTD for short.” I giggled girlishly and got to work. Now, doing this every single day could be a bit of a hassle but in a few weeks my schedule will die down and I will be able to devote more time to my blog and my hope is that it will also get more traffic, or perhaps that’s wishful thinking. Either way, I want to do this blog- not necessarily for traffic but for me!

Jean Paul Gaultier, the French haute couture designer, is coming to Target! These days it seems that the crème de la crème of fashion are collaborating with Target to create an affordable and chic clothing line that will be readily available to the public. With Alexander McQueen and Anna Sui on the Target designer roster, Jean Paul Gaultier is an exciting addition. With his very eccentric and dramatic and not to mention, beautiful designs, Gaultier is able to release the inner diva within all of us.

According to Target the line has a long way to go and will not be available any time soon. This just gives us one more thing to wait and anticipate for, no?

And after Gaultier, who knows what’s next for Target?

Yellow, navy, red and white! What a delight!

Diane Von Furstenberg’s resort 2010 line is happy and nautical. And not to mention, one of her cutest lines yet! Playing off of the classic nautical colors- navy, red, and white and adding sunny splashes of yellow, Furstenberg executes a perfect and wearable line. Furstenberg’s cuts are very reminiscent of 1940’s/1950’s Americana but the patterns and colors keep her line fresh, clean, and new and not a bit outdated.

Bamberina

“Once upon a time there was a pretty ballerina who would dance through the forest with her furry friends…”

This was the cute, imaginative story that was recited to me night after night as a tot. I had, and still do, a fascination with ballerinas, “bamberinas” as I used to refer to them. I loved how graceful they danced on their toes and twirled around, making it look completely effortless. But I also loved their pretty pink tutus and pointe shoes.

Enough with fashion. How ’bout some musique!

C’est le groupe français Phoenix! Though the band has been around for many years, they are now just hitting their prime. Thomas Mars’ voice is so incredibly not French sounding! You can clearly tell what he is saying. Compared to their fellow French rockers (i.e. the Teenageers), their voices seem completely American but their music is not. Their music is unique, mixing guitar riffs with a bit of snyth, something many bands have done but for some reason Phoenix does it better and makes it their own.

Not to mention the lead singer sounds a lot like Nate Ruess.
